Maia Pictures is a comedy and drama production company founded by multi BAFTA award winning commissioner, television and film producer Rachel Springett.
Maia is the Greek goddess of nurture and it is this philosophy that flows through everything the company does, offering a home for a new generation of original, authored, bold voices telling authentic stories that impact the world today.
We are also committed to collaborating with more established writers and performers to ensure their vision is supported to make their most ambitious work to date.
Our community
Scene & Heard
Scene and Heard is a unique mentoring project that partners the children of Somers Town, London with volunteer theatre and Film/ TV professionals. The children are given intensive, one-to-one adult attention, enabling them to write plays which are then performed by professional actors.
Maia Pictures provides ongoing support of this local charity where Rachel regularly works as a dramateur which involves tutoring and meeting with the children once a week. Actors who have contributed their time to the charity include Daniel Kaluuya, Damien Lewis and Hugh Bonneville.
